What's country cutie Kelli Pickler's secret to marital bliss? Marry your best friend! Kellie, 24, and her hubby, songwriter Kyle Jacobs, 37, were married on January 1 in a private Caribbean ceremony. So when In Touch caught up with her at Glenlivet's "Dressed To Kilt" event on April 5 in NYC, she was still giddy over being a newlywed. "I get to wake up beside the love of my life. He?s my best friend?, Kelli gushed. ?That?s what you have to marry. You marry your best friend, because you spend the most time with that person."
When we asked what she loved best about her guy, she said, "He is so amazing. He is so much better than me," adding, "I don?t know why he picked me, but I?m glad he did!?
Kyle even writes songs about her! ?He writes songs every day and nine times out of 10, they?re about me. He makes me CDs, and when I get in my car and turn the car on, they?ll be playing, ? Kelly said. "He leaves me notes around the house all the time. He writes letters. He?s just so romantic.?
So with all of that romance going on, will they be hearing the pitter patter of little singers and songwriters soon? ?Kyle and I would love to have children down the road. Right now, we just want to enjoy being newlyweds,? Kelli laughed. ?We have to get used to calling each other husband and wife. That just sounds so new! But definitely down the road!?
